Poignant Portraits for Huddersfield Author

Beverly Hopper's inspiring and moving book Mutti's Dream was grabbing the headlines; we felt privileged to help tell her story.

Challenge For Beverly

Beverly is an author who has written a moving novel called Muttis Dream.

It is based on the true story of her own grandmother-in-law's traumatic experiences.

Her amazing book was beginning to grab the headlines, and Beverly quickly required images for the press, her on line presence, new website, and book cover.

Solution For Beverly

We booked Beverly in for some Business Portraits to cover off all her on-line and promotional needs.

First of all though we wanted to know all about the book . . .

Towards the end of the WWII, a tragedy unfolded aboard the Wilhelm Gustloff ship, which lead to over 9000 people perishing in the icy seas (a disaster much larger than the Titanic).

However, on board that ship Mutti had a dream that forced her to disembark, ultimately saving her family’s lives.

Heavily reliant on her intuition, Mutti guided her family as they made their escape from East Prussia; just as the Russians make their final advance.

As you can imagine it's an emotional story, therefore we all felt some contrasting peaceful images of Beverly would work well.

There were also some wonderful portraits of Mutti's family - especially the keepsake locket - that were important to capture.

To be honest, we just had a wonderful day at Beverly's house - it didn't feel like work at all.   We took photos, had lunch, and took more photos . . . and chatted (a lot).

A few weeks later we were delighted to see Beverly had a double page spread in the Daily Mirror - along with her family's pictures and ours!
