Stylish Media Shoot inside John Lewis, Leeds

Stephanie Hirst’s ‘Believe Achieve’ motto has taken her on an unbelievable journey; it was a joy for us to help YBW tell her story.

Challenge for YBW/Steph

Yorkshire BusinessWoman publication supports female businesswomen across the Yorkshire Region.

And being their Official Photographers means we meet all kinds of interesting and successful ladies from the region.

This month they caught up with their new ambassador Stephanie Hirst; one of the UK's biggest radio stars and an incredible public speaker.  They required images for the cover and inside article.

The venue they chose was John Lewis & Partners in Leeds, and luckily we had Courtney Vernall on hand with a fantastic idea!

Solution for YBW/Steph

Courtney is a celebrated eclectic personal stylist at John Lewis.

She suggested dressing Stephanie in several outfits, each some form of nod to a milestone in her life career.  Which we loved of course.

Courtney created (in her own words):

"90's It Woman/Made in Yorkshire: including Western boots as a reference to Achy Breaky Heart by Billy Ray Cyrus (the first song Stephanie played on her first professional radio show).

Nostalgic Party: Stephanie loves dance music and radio, and this look celebrates how the 90's were the decade that really brought dance music to life.

Nostalgic 90's: a nod to 90's Clubwear and dance scene (the music she loves).

Glam Grunge:  another big genre of music in the 90's and has since influenced fashion massively.

Colour and Pride: celebrating Stephanie's beautiful transformation in the 2010's.

Ibiza: a reference to when Stephanie broadcast her show live from Cafe Mambo Ibiza in 2019".

All we had to do was find some cool locations in the store, set up our lights and shots, and work with Stephanie to create images she loved.

It's always great when we work with people who are open to suggestions, chatty, easy going, friendly and good fun . . . Steph is all of those wonderful things.
